MCC were double award-winners at the ECB Business of Cricket Awards.
The Club picked up the Innovation Award and the Major Match Customer Experience Award, with the judges impressed by their plans to make the most of the historic Lord’s site and the way in which the Club celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Home of Cricket earlier this year.
We value customer experience highly
The Awards, which were hosted at Edgbaston on Thursday 20 November, recognise and reward off-the-field excellence across the First Class game.
The judging panel, which consisted of industry experts from a variety of sports, also made awards in nine different categories to Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Surrey, Lancashire and Worcestershire.
On winning the Major Match Customer Experience Award, Elly Cockcroft, MCC's Head of Marketing, said: “We value the customer experience at Lord’s very highly – it has always been a very special place to come and watch cricket and we work very hard to keep it that way.
"I would like to thank ECB and the judging panel for this award which tops off what has been a very special year for MCC and Lord’s.”
While on the Innovation Award, Ian Treseder, MCC's Digital Manager, added: “At the start of this year we set out to make the most of the Lord’s Bicentenary across all media, and I think this award proves we did just that.
"We pride ourselves on our ability to communicate engagingly and creatively, and I’m delighted that the team’s hard work this year has been recognised.”
