More than 250 members of the local community visited Lord's for Silver Sunday on 4 October, an event which included an intergenerational cricket match and Afternoon Tea.

The intergenerational match on the Nursery Ground included MCC playing Members, representatives from local cricket clubs, MCC staff and City of Westminster employees.

The oldest player who took part in the match was 69.

Meanwhile, 250 local residents invited by MCC enjoyed a famous Lord's Afternoon Tea in the Nursery Pavilion, as well as tours of the Home of Cricket led by MCC's experienced guides.

MCC staff Lord's volunteers, and members of the local London Business School also helped organise the event on the day.

Silver Sunday is an annual day of fun and free activities for older people across the UK.

Led by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, it celebrates the value and knowledge they contribute to our communities while combating loneliness and isolation

This is the third consecutive year where Lord's has hosted a Silver Sunday event.
