England will play two 2017 Tests at Lord's

Lord’s Cricket Ground will host the first and last Test matches of the 2017 summer.

The first England v South Africa Investec Test Match begins on Thursday 6 July, and the third England v West Indies Investec Test match will start on Thursday 7 September.

These will be South Africa’s 17th and West Indies’ 21st Test Matches at Lord’s respectively.

Lord’s will also be the setting for two of England’s Royal London One Day Internationals in 2017. On Sunday 7 May, England will play Ireland at Lord’s for the first time and on Bank Holiday Monday 29 May they face South Africa.

The Royal London One Day Cup Final has been moved to Saturday 1 July and Lord’s will also host the ICC Women’s World Cup Final on 23 July.

It will be the second time Lord’s has held the final of the showpiece tournament, and the first time since 1993.

Derek Brewer, MCC Chief Executive, said: "I’m very excited by the quality and variety of fixtures at Lord’s next season, and I’m pleased that we will be hosting first and last Investec Test Matches of the summer.

"We look forward to welcoming South Africa, West Indies and their supporters as well as Ireland for their first international match here. The Royal London One Day Cup Final is always a great day for county supporters and players alike, and I am pleased to see the fixture moved to the height of summer, which I hope will help to reinvigorate the competition.

"I am particularly looking forward to the ICC Women’s World Cup Final in July which will be a momentous and historic day.

"Major matches at Lord’s this year have and will be played in front of packed houses and I’m sure next season will be no different. All in all, I’m sure 2017 will prove to be another great year at Lord’s."
