MCC and Middlesex CC have made 270 complimentary tickets available to the first responders who attended the Grenfell Tower disaster in June to visit Lord's for Thursday evening's NatWest T20 Blast match between Middlesex and Sussex Sharks.
Grenfell Tower is situated only three miles from Lord’s and both MCC and Middlesex are again showing their support for the local community and the emergency services who were called into action on 14 June.
MCC donated £10,000 shortly after the disaster to support the victims with £5,000 also being donated by Middlesex to help support those in need as a result of the tragedy.
MCC funds that were donated came from proceeds raised at the CEO Sleepout which it hosted at Lord’s in late 2016, to help raise money and increase awareness of homelessness in the UK to The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation.
Thursday’s match, which begins at 6:15pm, is the final NatWest T20 Blast South Group game to be played at Lord’s this season, following victories in tournament for Middlesex over Surrey and Essex Eagles at the Home of Cricket, and a defeat to Hampshire last week.
MCC and Middlesex are absolutely delighted to welcome members of the emergency services to recognise, in a very small way, their outstanding and brave contributions.
