Former West Indian batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul will play for M.C.C. on Tuesday 15 August when Scotland are the visitors to Lord’s for a 50-over match.
Chanderpaul, who made 11,867 Test match runs in a career that spanned over two decades, lines up for M.C.C. for the second time this summer, after also playing in the match against Afghanistan at the Home of Cricket last month.
The 42 year-old is currently playing county cricket for Lancashire having signed a one-year contract for this season.
He is joined in the M.C.C. line-up by New Zealand opener Jeet Raval. The 28 year-old, who has played seven Test matches for the Black Caps, is currently in England playing club cricket for Cuckfield in the Sussex Premier League.
Scotland arrive at Lord’s as they prepare for their next competitive series which takes place in October, as they travel to Papua New Guinea to play the hosts in both the ICC Intercontinental Cup and the ICC World Cricket League Championship.
Kyle Coetzer will captain the side while Somerset’s Michael Leask and Sussex paceman Stuart Whittingham have both been released from their respective counties to feature in the match.
Play is due to commence at 10.30am at Lord’s and tickets are available to purchase on the North & Grace Gates, priced at £5.00 for adults, £2.50 for seniors over the age of 65, and children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge.
