Sessay CC will return to Lord's as holders of the competition

Reed CC and Sessay CC will battle it out at Lord's in the final of the Watsons National Village Cup, organised by The Cricketer magazine, on September 17.

Sessay CC return to Lord’s having won the competition last season, where they defeated Sibton Park CC while Reed CC are also previous champions of the cup, claiming the trophy in 2012.

The Watsons Village Cup, which originated in 1972, sees around 300 clubs from villages across Britain compete for the opportunity to play at Lord’s and take home some silverware.

The Cricketer’s aspiration for the cup is to increase participation of club’s year on year while also providing them the opportunity to fulfil a dream to play at the Home of Cricket.
