Younis withdraws from MCC v Afghanistan match

Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan is no longer available to represent MCC against Afghanistan in the historic 50-over fixture on Tuesday 11 July at Lord’s.

The batsman was due to play alongside his compatriot Misbah Ul-Haq in an MCC side that features legends such as former Sri-Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara and ex-West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, but has now had to withdraw from the fixture. 

The match will see Afghanistan play at the Home of Cricket for the very first time in their history against MCC, who will be captained by former New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum. 

A replacement for Younis to feature for the hosts will be announced in due course.
