West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has signed to play for Middlesex to feature at Lord's in this year’s Vitality Blast tournament, subject to satisfactory visa and NOC paperwork being completed.

Bravo will join up with Middlesex in early July and will represent the club in the first six Vitality Blast matches this season, making his debut in the eagerly awaited London derby against Surrey at Lord’s on Thursday 5th July.

He will then play against Somerset on Thursday 19th July before taking part in his final fixture for Middlesex against Hampshire on Thursday 26th July with both games at the Home of Cricket.

Trinidadian Bravo, 34, is one of world’s most talented T20 players, capable of winning games with both bat and ball. He has an outstanding record in the short format of the game, hitting over 5,500 runs in T20 cricket at over 24 and taking 420 wickets at under 24.

In his T20 career Bravo has won the Indian Premier League and the Champions League with Chennai Super Kings, the Caribbean T20 and the Caribbean Premier League with Trinidad and Tobago, the Bangladeshi Premier League with the Dhaka Dynamites and the ICC World T20 twice with the West Indies.

Lord’s is a place that really excites me

Speaking of the signing of Bravo, Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket commented:

“Dwayne is one of the most exciting and best T20 players in the world. He can win games of cricket with bat or ball. He may only be available for six games, but I expect him to have an impact in a number of these matches. I’m sure he is a player the huge Lord’s crowds will enjoy watching.”

Bravo, who made his Test debut for West Indies at Lord's, added:

“I’ve been fortunate enough throughout my career to have played all round the world and Lord’s in London is a place that really excites me.

“I have no hesitation committing to Middlesex for six games of the Vitality Blast and am looking forward to joining Dan Vettori’s squad at the start of July.”

Bravo will link up with Australian all-rounder Aston Agar, who has also signed for Middlesex for the upcoming Vitality Blast.

Tickets for the five Vitality Blast matches at Lord's are now on sale.
