A group of 50 die-hard cricket fans snapped-up the chance to join Steve Harmison and the Ashes Urn to watch the first day of the 2013/14 Ashes series in the MCC Museum at Lord's.

Tickets sold out in a matter of hours for a very special 'sleepover' at the Home of Cricket, which will raise funds for the cricket chairty Chance to Shine.

'Yorkshire Tea's Night at the Museum' will start at 9:30pm GMT on Wednesday 20 November. The event will get underway with a tour of the famous Lord’s dressing rooms, before Ashes winner Steve Harmison takes part in an intimate Q&A session.

Guests will then get to witness the opening exchanges between Australia and England in the historic surroundings of one of the world's oldest sports museums.

An array of cricketing memorabilia will surround them, including the bespoke Ashes Collection, which centres on the famous Ashes Urn.

Bottomless cups of Yorkshire Tea will help fans make it through the night, as they watch the action unfold live from The Gabba in the MCC Film Theatre.

Mattresses will also be available around the Museum for strategic power-naps, and at the end of the first day's play everyone will be rewarded with a Lord’s breakfast.

Curator of the MCC Museum, Adam Chadwick, said: "MCC is delighted to be involved with ‘Yorkshire Tea’s Night at the Museum’ and to help raise funds for Chance to Shine.

"The rivalry between England and Australia is steeped in history, and this unique event offers cricket fans the opportunity to watch the latest chapter unfold actually under the same roof as the symbol of that rivalry; the famous Ashes Urn."

Kevin Sinfield, Marketing Manager from Yorkshire Tea added, "This is a fantastic opportunity for cricket lovers to open their own Ashes campaigns at the Home of Cricket. It’s a momentous occasion and what better way to celebrate than with a proper brew or two!"
