Coming to Lord's?

You've got your tickets, the date is circled in red on the calendar and you're looking forward to a day at the Home of Cricket.

But there's much more to a day at Lord's than the action on the field; from the practicalities of what to wear and how to get here, to the more exciting prospect of what to eat and drink, or a trip to the Lord's Shop.

Whether it's your first visit or your annual pilgrimage, the Coming to Lord's section has stacks of information for you to make the most of your day in St John's Wood.

How to get to Lord's

Lord's is located in central London, just a few minutes' walk from Regent's Park, and is well connected to the Capital's major railway stations.

The nearest London Underground station is St John's Wood, and there are several underground stops within walking distance.

What to wear

Some people think that you have to wear a shirt and tie to come to Lord's, but unless you're an MCC Member sat in the Pavilion, that's not the case.

If you're sitting in a Members' Friends Enclosure, or the Upper Mound Debenture Area, then smart casual dress codes apply.

For the rest of the Ground there is no dress code, though Lord's doesn't permit fancy dress.

Food & drink

Before you head off to Lord's, it's worth remembering that we have no restrictions on how much food you can bring with you from home.

However, there's plenty on offer at the Home of Cricket to tickle any tastebuds, whether its a pre-ordered Picnic Hamper, a burger and a pint, or a three-course lunch.

Things to do at Lord's

A day at Lord's is about more than just watching the cricket.

Whether it's a trip to the Lord's Shop, a lazy picnic on the Nursery Ground or a trip to the famous MCC Museum to see the Ashes Urn, there's always plenty going on at the Home of Cricket.
