Pakistan pick 'renewed' squad

Pakistan, captained by Shahid Afridi, have included four uncapped players in their squad for the summer tour of England.

The Pakistani's first tour match in England will be at Lord's this Sunday, when they take on an MCC side featuring former India captain Sourav Ganguly and West Indies legend Brian Lara in a Twenty20 match.

Live (free) audio commentary will be available on throughout the match.

It will be Pakistans first Twenty20 match of the tour and their first in England since they won the ICC World Twenty20 title at Lord's in 2009.

Younus Khan captained the Pakistan side to victory on that occasion and his omission from the touring squad has raised a few eyebrows.

The Pakistan selectors have named Azhar Ali, Umar Amin, Wahab Riaz and Tanvir Ahmed in the squad.

Amin and Riaz both have limited-overs international experience but Azhar and Tanvir are new to international cricket.

The selectors have also recalled Yasir Hameed, who last played Test cricket in 2007 - as they look to renew and refresh the squad after recent problems both on and off the field.

Festival of speed

The Twenty20 match at Lord's on Sunday promises to be a festival of speed and batting.

As well as Lara and Ganguly in the MCC side, they also feature Sri Lanka fast bowler Chaminda Vaas.

In the Pakistan side Afridi will be able to call on Shoaib Akhtar, once ranked as the world's fastest bowler.

The Twenty20 match takes place on Sunday 27 June and starts at 2:30pm.

Tickets for the MCC v Pakistanis Twenty20 match at Lord’s are on sale now, priced £20 for adults and £5 for under-16s.

Pakistan are back at Lord's later in the summer too - taking on Australia in a neutral Test match in July.

Officially Pakistan will be the 'home' side though in August they will most definitely be in the away dressing room as they take on England in a Test.

Finally, in September they'll be at Lord's, under the floodlights - tackling England again in the NatWest One Day Series.

Tickets for all four matches (two Tests, one ODI and that Twenty20 match against MCC) are still available.

Make sure you're here to see the action.
