Sir Denys Robers, President of MCC in 1989-90, has died.
The MCC flag above the clock tower at the Nursery End of the Ground has been lowered until his funeral on Tuesday 28 May.
A colonial official and judge, he held senior positions abroad, particularly in Hong Kong where he was appointed Solicitor General in 1962, rising to become Colonial Secretary in 1973.
