Actor, writer, comedian and TV presenter Stephen Fry will ring the five-minute bell on Day Two of the England v India Investec Test match at Lord's on Friday 18 July.
QI presenter Fry, who has also appeared in Blackadder, Sherlock Holmes and Jeeves and Wooster amongst others, will ring the bell situated in the Bowlers' Bar in the Pavilion, which will signal the imminent start of play on the second day of the Test match.
MCC Associate Member Fry, 56, is a frequent visitor to Lord's, and has lent his voice to the Laws of Cricket animations.
He spoke to Lords.org during the Sri Lanka Test match about his love for Lord's, and on the MCC v Rest of the World game.
The tradition of inviting a famous cricket player, administrator or fan has been practised at Test matches at Lord's since 2007.
Fry joins an illustrious list that includes Sir Ian Botham, Yohan Blake and Rahul Dravid, to name just a few.
