MCC has published the results of its annual election to its Main Committee.

Amongst the successful four is former Middlesex and Durham bowler Simon Hughes.

The other three elected names are Tony Alt, Giles Toogood and Garri Jones. They will take up their three-year positions on 1 October 2014.

A total of 5,738 ballot papers were submitted, including 13 spoilt papers. The votes cast were as follows:

Mike Gatting, MCC President, said "MCC is fortunate to be able to call upon such a high calibre of candidates to serve on its Committee. In Tony, Giles, Garri and my former Middlesex teammate Simon, the Club will benefit from an exceptional breadth of cricketing and business knowledge and experience."

Russell Cake, Chinmay Gupte, Julian Vallance and Mark Williams will retire as Elected Members on 30 September 2014.
