Following today’s announcement by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) of the domestic fixtures for 2024, we are pleased to be able to confirm several domestic matches on the Lord’s fixture list, in addition to the international calendar which has already been announced.
Middlesex will play six County Championship matches at Lord’s in 2024, as well as four matches in the Vitality Blast. Sunrisers, who played competitively at Lord’s for the first time in 2023, will play two matches in the Charlotte Edwards Cup next summer.
Middlesex will begin their Championship campaign on Friday 5 April when they face Glamorgan at Lord’s, with Yorkshire visiting later in the month. Leicestershire and Sussex will also be in red-ball action at Lord’s before the end of May.
The Vitality Blast returns in June as Middlesex welcome Glamorgan on Thursday 6 June, the first of three successive Thursday fixtures. This match will be a double-header with Sunrisers welcoming 2021 champions South East Stars.
Last season’s Blast champions Somerset will provide the opposition on Tuesday 11 June before beaten finalists Essex Eagles make the short trip to St John’s Wood on Thursday 13 June – a day which will see another double-header with Sunrisers entertaining 2023 runners-up The Blaze. The eagerly anticipated London derby between Middlesex and Surrey will take place on Thursday 20 June.
Four-day cricket returns from Sunday 23 June when Derbyshire are the visitors, and the final County Championship fixture at Lord’s next season sees Middlesex play Gloucestershire from Monday 9 September.
