Cambridge and Durham MCC Universities will meet in the MCCU final at Lord's on Friday.
The Light Blues will start as favourites for the title after a fantastic campaign so far, which saw them top the six-team MCC Universities championship table with four first-innings victories.
They also secured their first silverware of the summer on Wednesday 20 June, setting up the final perfectly with a 23-run win over Durham at Wormsley.
Ben Ackland was the star man for the victors, making 129 from the top of the order to give his side a solid platform as they set a tricky target of 272 to win.
Durham made a wonderful start, reaching 63/0 by the end of the 11th over, but from then on in lost wickets at regular intervals. A late rally from the tail threatened to disturb Cambridge's victory march, but they were eventually bowled out for 247 in the final over.
Cardiff, the reigning champions after victory over Durham at Lord's in last year final, won the T20 competition this Monday with victory Oxford in the final.
The Welsh based side were frustrated in their defence of the title this year though, with four of their five matches abandoned as a washout.
At the same time as the men’s MCC Universities Challenge final on the main Ground, the Lord’s Nursery Ground will host the BUCS Cricket Women’s Championship Final.
Loughborough Women’s MCCU head into the fifty-over clash against Durham MCCU as firm favourites, having racked-up a 341-run victory against Southampton University in their semi final, and boasting six players with women’s international cricket experience.
