Tommy Banks is one of the UK’s most acclaimed Michelin-starred chefs, and owner of the Black Swan at Oldstead, Roots York and The Abbey Inn, Byland (opening May 2023). He owns and operates the premium food experience business Made In Oldstead and canned wine brand Banks Brothers.

In addition to Tommy Banks, all chefs participating in the Home of Food can be found below. We are also proud to be working with a vast list of Artisan and local Westminster producers.

Full line-up

You can bring water with you and there are plenty of places where you will be able to refill your reusable bottle around the Ground. With the exception of baby food, other food and drink items, including alcohol, are not permitted at this event. We’re certain you’ll find more than enough to tempt and satisfy you from amongst our chefs and producers on the day.

The Home of Food and most of our Experiences take place from 10:00 to 19:30 on Saturday 9 and from 10:00 to 18:30 on Sunday 10 September. If you have purchased tickets for the Long Room event in the Pavilion, you will be advised of timings for this separately.

The ticket price includes:

  • entry to the Home of Food
  • access to a range of FREE chef demos on the Nursery Ground
  • bowling speed competitions in the Indoor Cricket Centre (for those aged 15 years and over)
  • all children’s activities including an Interactive kids' Cooking Club in the Nursery Pavilion
  • and Taster cricket sessions in the Indoor Cricket School (we encourage you to pre-book here as places are limited)
  • Museum entry.

Food and drink, and all Experiences are purchased in addition to your general admission ticket and full details on these can be found here. 

Yes of course. Children under the age of five can attend for free, children aged five or over will need a valid ticket. 

The Home of Food is a family-friendly event and there will be lots of kids’ food and drink available to purchase as well as free interactive events, including:

  • Interactive kids' cooking Club in the Nursery Pavilion
  • Taster cricket sessions in the Indoor Cricket School

We encourage you to book here, as places are limited. We recommend comfortable footwear and clothing for children participating in any of our interactive experiences.

Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Valid photographic ID will be required at ticket-check.

We recommend visitors dress in smart casual attire for the Home of Food event.

For those who have booked any day time pavilion experience on saturday 9 september, like wine tasting masterclasses, a smart casual dress code is required. for those that have booked the long room dinner in the evening, formal dress is required.

For Pavilion Experiences on Sunday 10 September, including daytime activities like wine tastings, the Rooftop experience, or the Long Room lunch in the evening, smart casual dress is required.

FORMAL

Gentlemen

  • A tailored jacket or blazer with a collared shirt
  • Tie or cravat
  • Tailored trousers (chinos, corduroys, or other formal trousers) 
  • Footwear appropriate to a formal setting with socks which cover the ankle.

Ladies

  • Dress
  • Skirt
  • Tailored trousers with a top or blouse
  • Other clothing that is appropriately formal
  • Footwear appropriate to a formal setting.

SMART CASUAL

A smart casual standard of dress applies to all visitors in the Pavilion, or a blouse or top appropriate to a formal setting.

Jacket and ties are not required, and shorts and trousers must be tailored. 

We will not accept admittance in denim jeans or dilapidated or offensive garments of any kind.

We also expect a smart standard of footwear. Flip-flops and casual trainers (i.e., brightly coloured) are not permissible. Please note that this list is not exhaustive.

Please note that these regulations do not apply to children aged 12 or under.

The Home of Food will take place in all weather conditions.

Lord’s is a cashless ground. We accept payment by debit/credit card and mobile payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, at all tills around the Ground.

Please note a formal dress code applies in the Pavilion for all Saturday Experiences.

No, a general admission ticket is not required for the Long Room dinner held on the evening of Saturday 9 September. However, entry to the Home of Food is not included so if you do wish to attend both you will need to purchase a separate general admission ticket.

Ticket Holders are permitted to exit and re-enter Lord’s provided the same ticket is scanned for exit and re-entry at the Grace or North Gates.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Unfortunately, not. Lord's operates a card-only policy at our bars, restaurants and shops.

Lord’s is a cashless ground. We accept payment by debit/credit card and mobile payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, at all tills around the Ground.

We do not have a left luggage area or cloakroom. You will need to keep your bags with you at all times.

We know that items can get misplaced from time to time and we will do our very best to reunite missing items with their rightful owner.

Please use the form below to report any items you have lost on your visit to Lord’s.

Lost Property

Please note, MCC retains lost property in most cases until the end of the cricket season, the only exceptions being bank cards which are destroyed if not claimed within 3 days of them being handed to us. Foodstuffs/perishable goods and items that cannot safely be stored will also be disposed of at the discretion of the Head Steward’s Office. All items of property that remain unclaimed at the end of the cricket season will be disposed of and either passed to charity or recycled where possible. MCC shall not be liable for any injury whatsoever to any visitor, nor for any loss or damage to or theft of their respective property howsoever such injury, loss or damage may be caused, save for where the law provides otherwise.

The ECB National Club final is taking place on Saturday 9 September (11:00 to 16:00) and we encourage you to take a seat in the stands, watch and cheer the players on while enjoying a quality array of food and drink on offer.

There won’t be any cricket taking place on Sunday 10 September, but you are still welcome to enjoy the Ground’s unique atmosphere from the stands, while watching our Ground staff working to prepare the grass.

You can purchase tickets for this event through the Lord’s ticketing website here (link to ticketing page for the event).

Lord’s Tickets are now distributed electronically via the official Lord’s App.

To receive your ticket, you will first need to download the App which is compatible with Android and Apple IOS.

Note that the mobile device you use must be able to access the internet (either through Wi-Fi or mobile network) as the App will not work without internet access. Your mobile device will need to be able to access the internet as you access Lord’s, as you cannot download the ticket to your device in advance.

If you don’t have a smartphone and aren’t able to download the Lord’s App to access your match ticket, please contact our Club Services Department on 020 7432 1000 for an alternative method of entry.

No refunds will be issued for tickets or Experiences.

MCC Members do not need to book a ticket to enter the Ground and the Pavilion on Saturday 8 September. You only need to bring your valid Membership Pass. However, you will need to purchase tickets online to enjoy any of our premium events. 

Members enjoy a reduced-price ticket of £25 to attend the Home of Food on Sunday 9 September.

GETTING HERE

Entry is via the North Gate on Wellington Place, opposite the Wellington Hospital or the Grace Gate on St. John’s Wood Road.

We encourage all visitors to use public transport if possible.

Several bike racks are available outside the Ground for cyclists to lock their bikes to.

There are several Cycle Hire/scooter docking stations within five minutes’ walk of the Ground, on Abbey Road, St John’s Wood Road, Wellington Road, Lodge Road, Lisson Grove and Prince Albert Road.

There is no car parking available on site. There are parking restrictions affecting non-residents on the streets surrounding Lord’s and on St John’s Wood High Street, so please ensure you do not park in bays which are for residents’ use only.

However, Westminster City Council offers parking close to Lord's at Kingsmill Terrace (NW8 6AA). Please visit their websites via the links below:

If taking the Underground:

The following stations are all within walking distance of the Ground:

  • St. John’s Wood – Jubilee line (5 mins)
  • Baker Street – Bakerloo, Circle, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City lines (15 mins)
  • Warwick Avenue – Bakerloo line (15 mins)
  • Marylebone – Bakerloo line (15 mins)
  • Edgware Road – Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines (15 mins)
  • Paddington - Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines (20 mins)

Those travelling by Tube to or from Lord’s requiring step free access are advised to use local bus services from the following stations:

  • Kilburn (Jubilee line) - Number 189 bus from stop B (on Shoot-up Hill)
  • Golders Green (Northern line) - Number 13 bus from stop GF (within bus station outside the station entrance)

If taking the bus:

  • The 13 and 113 routes run adjacent to Lord's on the Wellington Road (to the east of the Ground). These stop closest to the North and Heyhoe-Flint Gates but are within a comfortable walking distance to the Grace Gate.
  • The 139 and 189 routes run adjacent to Lord's on Grove End Road (to the west of the Ground). These routes stop closest to the Grace Gate but are a short walk from the North Gates.

If taking the train:

  • The nearest main line railway station is Marylebone, served by Chiltern Railways, which is approximately ten minutes’ walk from the Ground. Marylebone Station is on the Chiltern line.
  • Paddington Station is approximately twenty minutes’ walk from the Ground, for services to West and South-West England and South Wales.
  • Euston, King’s Cross, and St Pancras International stations are only a short journey away.
