The Voneus Village Cup Final

The Voneus Village Cup Final takes place at Lord’s on Sunday 19 September, as Alvanley of Cheshire take on Calmore Sports Club of Hampshire at the Home of Cricket.

The competition, has been running since 1972, gives village cricketers the chance to play at Lord’s. It will be the 50th final to be played since the inception of the tournament.

Last year’s final was the only non-professional match to take place at Lord’s due to the Covid-19 pandemic, when Colwall of Herefordshire defeated Redbourn of Hertfordshire to win the coveted trophy.

A new name will be added to the list of winners in 2021 with both teams making their debuts in the final. Play is due to begin at 11.00 and the match consists of 40 overs per side.

MCC will be providing live audio commentary from the match. The commentary team for this match will be Ian Cowdroy, Terry Smith, Nick von Schlippe, Matt Walker and Tim Worden.
