Bangladesh return to the Home of Cricket after a 17-year absence as Lord's hosts another summer of world-class international cricket.

Lord's will once again welcome the biggest names in international cricket in 2027, with a summer programme headlined by men’s and women’s England matches against Australia in the Ashes, the return of Bangladesh for their first Rothesay Test at the Ground in 17 years, and a men's Metro Bank One-Day International with New Zealand. 

The international summer begins with England men taking on Bangladesh from 28 May, before cricket's greatest rivalry returns to the Home of Cricket as England face Australia in a men’s Test from 30 June, which forms part of next summer’s Men’s Ashes Series. 

Lord's will also stage a women’s One-Day International between England and Australia on 16 July as part of the Women’s Ashes Series, before the major match programme at Lord’s concludes with the men's One-Day International between England and New Zealand on 16 September. 

The Men’s Ashes Series promises to be one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, as England and Australia renew one of the fiercest rivalries in world sport. Lord's provided the stage for a dramatic encounter during the 2023 series, creating unforgettable moments and an electric atmosphere that captivated cricket supporters around the world. The return of the Women's Ashes to the Ground underlines MCC’s commitment to hosting the biggest occasions in both the men's and women's game at Lord’s. 

The opening Test of the summer will also mark a significant moment as Bangladesh return to Lord's for the first time since 2010. Their last appearance at the Home of Cricket saw England made to work hard for victory in a competitive contest in which Shahadat Hossain and Tamim Iqbal became the first Bangladesh players to write their names on the famous Honours Board. 

The fixture is expected to resonate strongly with London's vibrant Bangladeshi community, which numbers more than 300,000 people, offering the prospect of a unique and colourful atmosphere at Lord’s when they face England for the first time in nearly two decades.

Together with England's ODI against New Zealand, these fixtures promise another memorable summer of international cricket at the Home of Cricket.”
