Tinie Tempah to perform at London Spirit's opening match against Manchester Super Giants, presented by Barclays

Posted: 17 July 2026

London-based rapper Tinie Tempah is the first major music act booked by London Spirit and its Principal Partner, Barclays, in the new era of ownership with MCC and the Tech Titans.

Tinie Tempah will perform a set, featuring a selection of his most popular songs, between the women’s and men’s matches at London Spirit’s opening fixture at Lord’s against Manchester Super Giants on Thursday 23 July.

Tinie Tempah, born and raised in London, has won several premier awards, including the Best Single at the Brit Awards and Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novello Awards for classic rap track ‘Pass Out’. As well as ‘Pass Out’, he has six other UK number-ones, including Written In The Stars and Never Let Me Go, making him one of the country’s most successful rap artists.

This performance will form part of an enhanced match day experience for cricket fans visiting Lord’s to watch London Spirit in The Hundred. Music has always been an important aspect of match days at The Hundred, and Lord’s has hosted some of the UK’s premier musical talent. Last year, London Spirit's opening fixture included a performance by pop star Mimi Webb, with former Little Mix singer Perrie taking to the outfield during The Hundred Final, while Zara Larsson, Rudimental and Bastille have also made special appearances at Lord’s. Earlier this week, London Spirit also announced Zoe London as the Venue DJ, a dance music entertainer who is also resident DJ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Barclays has a long history of connecting people through sport, entertainment and music. As Principal Partner of London Spirit and Lord’s, Barclays is committed to supporting cricket from grassroots to the elite game, while creating memorable experiences that engage and inspire fans. Tinie Tempah’s performance is a great example of how sport and entertainment can come together to reach new audiences and enhance the matchday experience.

Tinie Tempah recently announced his The Night's Not Dead UK & Ireland Tour, his first major headline tour in almost a decade. Away from the stage, he is also working with Music Venue Trust to champion the grassroots venues that continue to nurture the next generation of British talent.

Tinie Tempah said: "I'm really looking forward to performing at Lord's this summer - it's such an iconic London venue and The Hundred always brings an incredible atmosphere. I'm all about music and sport coming together to create memorable experiences for fans so I'm excited to be part of the opening match and get everyone warmed up for a brilliant day of cricket."

Katie Maier, Chief Marketing Officer, MCC & London Spirit, said: “This is an incredible booking for London Spirit and Barclays. Tinie Tempah is London born and bred, and I know he’ll deliver a stellar performance to mark the start of an exciting new era for London Spirit. I would say it’s Written In The Stars…!”

Tom Corbett, Managing Director of Sponsorship and Client Experience at Barclays, said: "At Barclays, we believe in the power of sport and entertainment to bring people together. Through our partnerships with Lord’s and London Spirit, we’re proud to be backing the future of cricket – helping the game reach new audiences, inspiring the next generation of fans and continuing to support participation at grassroots level. Tinie Tempah is an iconic voice of London and the perfect artist to bring the spirit of the city to life at London Spirit’s opening home fixture."
