M.A. Starc 5-26 v New ZealandBack to boards

Mitchell Starc grabbed his first spot on the Lord’s Limited-Overs Honours Boards, when he took five wickets for just 26 runs during Australia’s 86-run victory against New Zealand in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Following Trent Boult’s hat-trick earlier in the day, the first ever hat-trick in an ODI at Lord’s, Starc showed why he too is regarded as one of the finest left-arm seamers in the game with a devastating spell of fast bowling.

With New Zealand 97-2 and Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor building a solid partnership, Starc provided Australia with a key moment in the match, dismissing Williamson, who edged behind for 40.

Starc continued to dominate the New Zealand battling line-up, claiming the wickets of Tom Latham, Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi before claiming the final wicket of the match by clean bowling Lockie Ferguson, as Australia sealed a comfortable victory.
