With England batting first, South Africa had a big job in trying to restrict England to a chaseable target.
Stepping up to the plate, Ntini quickly made an impact by bowling Trescothick in the seventh over and Vaughan in the 21st over to see the back end of both England’s opening batsmen.
Ntini then charged through England’s middle order, dismissing Stewart and Flintoff before bowling Harmison to pick up his 5th wicket for 75 runs.
After South Africa put on a mammoth total of 682, England were left 509 runs short of the visitor's first innings total.
With Ntini full of confidence and charging in with the new ball, he dismissed Trescothick for the second time in the match as well as taking the wickets of Hussain, Stewart, Giles and Harmison to achieve figures of 5-145.
Ntini was awarded the player of the match alongside Greame Smith for his match figures of 10-220.
