R.J. Hadlee 6-80 v EnglandBack to boards

Sir Richard Hadlee took his best figures at Lord’s during the 1986 drawn Test between England and New Zealand.

England batted first but Hadlee, just like in 1978 and in 1983, was on excellent form, removing Graham Gooch, Martyn Moxon and Bill Athey as the hosts found themselves 196/3.

Hadlee continued to rip through England’s batting line-up, dismissing Mike Gatting, Phil Edmonds and Graham Dilley to claim a six wickets and his third spot on the Honours Boards.

Despite Hadlee’s efforts, he was unable to be a part of a first Test victory at Lord’s, as both sides drew the Test after five days.
