Based at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, the MCC Foundation (MCCF) is an international cricket charity delivering projects across the UK and around the world. MCCF provides free coaching and match play to empower boys and girls to reach their full potential in the game, to unite and inspire communities, and to promote physical and mental wellbeing. MCCF’s flagship project is the National Hub Programme which provides high quality coaching and match play to thousands of young, state-educated players across the country.

Coaching Scholarship Programme Officer

Location: Lord’s Cricket Ground, London (with flexible working)

Contract: Full time, fixed term (Two years, with extension subject to funding)

Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 (depending on experience)

Reports to: Director of Programmes and Operations

Purpose of the Role

The Coaching Scholarship Programme Officer plays an important role in coordinating and supporting MCC Foundation's coach development work, with a particular focus on the Coaching Scholarship Programme.

Working closely with the Programme Manager, you'll help deliver an outstanding experience for participants by coordinating programme activity, maintaining effective systems and supporting communication with coaches, mentors and partners. While your primary focus will be the Coaching Scholarship Programme, you will also contribute to wider workforce initiatives and support the successful delivery of MCC Foundation's programme portfolio.

The Coach Scholarship Programme is one of MCC Foundation's flagship initiatives, designed to increase the number, confidence and quality of young female cricket coaches across the UK. Through a two-year programme of qualifications, mentoring, practical coaching experience and personal development, it creates sustainable pathways into coaching, leadership and employment within the game.

The Coaching Scholarship Programme is moving into an ambitious growth phase and the Programme Officer is required to facilitate this expansion.

The Role

• Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Coaching Scholarship Programme, ensuring participants, mentors and partners receive an excellent experience.

• Support programme planning, communications, workshops, events and logistics, helping ensure activity is well organised and delivered to a high standard.

• Act as a key point of contact for programme participants, responding to enquiries and supporting them throughout their scholarship journey.

• Maintain accurate programme records, systems and documentation, including participant, safeguarding and partner information.

• Support the collection and management of programme data, helping monitor progress, demonstrate impact and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Programmes Team, contributing to workforce initiatives and supporting the successful delivery of the Foundation's wider programme portfolio.

Continuously look for ways to improve systems, processes and the participant experience, helping MCC Foundation deliver high-quality programmes efficiently and effectively.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys helping programmes run smoothly.

We are looking for someone with lived experience as a female coach, ideally as an ECB Core Coach (Level 2) or equivalent in another sport.

You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with a wide range of people and ensuring the detail is never overlooked. You'll enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, building positive relationships and finding practical solutions to everyday challenges.

An interest in coach development, workforce development or supporting young people to develop their skills and confidence would be valuable. You'll understand the importance of creating positive experiences for participants and be motivated by helping others succeed.

You'll be confident using digital systems and willing to embrace new technologies that improve programme delivery and reporting. Experience of coordinating programmes, projects or events would be beneficial, particularly within sport, education or the charity sector. Experience of working with young people or volunteers would also be an advantage.

A background in cricket is welcome but not essential. More important is your enthusiasm for helping young people develop, your commitment to equality of opportunity and your willingness to learn.

This role will require occasional evening and weekend working to support programme activities, events and participant engagement.

• Regular travel across the UK will be required to support programme delivery, events and partner engagement.
