Salman Butt insists England will be the side with home advantage when they play Pakistan in the deciding Test of the series at Lord’s.
Pakistan were the home side for the last test at the Home of Cricket when they took on Australia in the MCC Spirit of Cricket series in June.
Butt, who made scores of 63 and 92 in that match, shrugged off suggestions that Lord’s had become a home from home for Pakistan this summer- but talked up his side's chances of leveling the series.
He said: “We know the slopes and where the wind comes from so we know a few things about the ground now.
“But obviously we don’t know more about Lord’s than the English team.
“If we play to our potential though we can definitely beat them.
“To come from 2-0 down to draw the series will definitely help this team and boost their confidence into the future.
“If they come across this kind of situation in the future then it will give them confidence knowing that they have come back from it before.
“This team has the ability and they are showing that from time to time so hopefully they can carry on.
“The unit is only five matches old and they will make mistakes but we have to stick together as a unit and do what we are told by our seniors and stick to the basics.”
