Marylebone Cricket Club is one of the World's most active Cricket Clubs, the owner of Lord's Ground and the Guardian of the Laws and Spirit of the Game.

The Ginger Pig will deliver a variety of picnic hampers for the men's Test Matches and ODI at the Home of Cricket.
Cricket fans can make their visits to Lord’s extra delicious this year with a sumptuous picnic hamper from The Ginger Pig, London’s iconic artisan butcher and delicatessen.
Inspired by a traditional cricket tea, each picnic hamper includes breakfast, a two or three-course lunch and afternoon tea. A banquet of terrines, scotch eggs, sandwiches and buttery homemade cakes to savour from opening bell to last ball.
The star of the show is The Ginger Pig’s new Batter’s Sandwich, a towering, deep-filled feast with layer-upon-layer of slow-roast meat, cured trout or marinated and chargrilled seasonal produce, sandwiched in a rustic ciabatta and loaded with pickles and aioli.
Afternoon tea is a refined affair, with a scotch quail’s egg or savoury tart, a luscious lemon and raspberry Battenburg celebrating MCC’s signature colours and – of course – freshly baked scones with lashings of clotted cream and blackcurrant jam.
The Ginger Pig is undoubtedly one of London’s favourite butchers and delicatessens and so we’re delighted to be working with them to bring their iconic style and taste to Lord’s. Every fan knows that cricket and food go hand-in-hand and we’re sure that the Ginger Pig picnics will elevate our customer’s experience and make their day at the Home of Cricket a very special one.
- James De Groot, Chief Food and beverage officer, MCC
These tremendously proper picnics are handmade by the Ginger Pig’s skilled butchers, bakers and chefs in their Bermondsey butchery and kitchens, and – as you’d expect – sourcing is of the highest calibre. Expect free range and native breed meats, sustainably caught fish and seafood and exceptional fresh produce. With an abundance of green spaces at Lord’s, Ginger Pig Picnics can be enjoyed from your seat if you don’t want to miss a ball, or find a picnic table or patch of grass to enjoy it from.
The Ginger Pig has been curing, cooking and baking in the capital for over 25 years. Specialising in nose to tail butchery of native breed, high welfare and naturally reared animals, The Ginger Pig's story began when founder Tim Wilson purchased three Tamworth pigs - Milly, Molly and Mandy - and developed an interest in farming rare and native breeds.
In 1998, The Ginger Pig were invited to become a founding trader of what is now today’s vibrant Borough Market. Word quickly spread and today The Ginger Pig operates butchery shops and delis in eight London neighbourhoods, including down the road from the Home of Cricket in Marylebone.
Now their culinary team will be producing their famous decadent picnic hampers at Lord's for the men's test matches, with menus to delight every guest no matter the dietary preference – meat lovers, pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans alike.
A little over 20 years ago I opened the Ginger Pig just down the road from Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John's Wood. It now gives all of us in the business much pride and delight to be able to offer some of our products at the test matches. These picnics are a celebration of our roots in high quality farming, sourcing and butchery, and we all hope you find the hampers as exciting as the cricket.
