ANDY FLOWER APPOINTED AS HEAD COACH OF LONDON SPIRIT MEN

Posted: 3 October 2025

London Spirit is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Flower as the new Head Coach of its men’s team.

One of the most respected and successful T20 coaches in the game, Flower will take charge ahead of the 2026 season, and the appointment marks another significant step in a bold new era for the team following the transfer of ownership to MCC and Tech Titans.

As preparations build towards a new chapter for the franchise, Flower’s appointment on a multi-year contract underlines Spirit’s intent to move decisively.

He brings a wealth of international and domestic experience to the role, having achieved consistent success across the global game and, most recently in The Hundred, has guided Trent Rockets with distinction, winning the men’s tournament in 2022.

Flower has also enjoyed success in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning their first title in 2025. He has also coached in the PSL, CPL and ILT20, and previously coached the England men’s team, winning the ICC World T20 in 2010 and the Ashes in 2009, 2010/11 and 2013.

Mo Bobat, Director of Cricket at London Spirit, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to secure Andy’s services as our men’s head coach. His track record across international and franchise cricket, over an extended period of time, speaks for itself. Andy and I have enjoyed a strong working relationship in the past, and I’m looking forward to building something special with him at London Spirit as we enter this new and exciting phase for the franchise.

“On behalf of everyone at London Spirit, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Justin Langer for his efforts during the 2025 season. He led with all of the commitment and integrity that one has come to expect from a man of his calibre.”

Andy Flower, Head Coach of London Spirit, said: “I’m hugely excited to be joining London Spirit and to be working at the Home of Cricket. It’s a real privilege to be part of such an iconic venue and organisation. I’m also thrilled to be working once again with Mo, and for the first time with both MCC and the Tech Titans.

“The new investment and move to private ownership brings a fresh injection of energy to the competition, and I’m really looking forward to beginning this new chapter with London Spirit.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to Mick Newell, Lisa Pursehouse, and everyone at Trent Rockets. The past five years have been an incredible experience, and I’m deeply grateful to the players, staff, and supporters for their commitment, passion, and the many great memories we’ve shared."

The appointment of Flower follows the recent confirmation of the team’s new Board and the arrival of Mo Bobat as Director of Cricket, as London Spirit accelerates preparations well ahead of the 2026 season.
