London Spirit rebrand wins People’s Choice award at Creativepool 2026 Annual Awards

Posted: 11 September 2026

London Spirit’s rebrand has won the People’s Choice award in the Graphic category at the Creativepool 2026 Annual Awards.

The rebrand – which was launched earlier this year when it was projected onto the iconic Barclays Media Centre at Lord’s – features a striking new logo and is centred around a deeper shade of blue than was previously used by the team.

While the new style is modern and innovative, it also contains a nod to the heritage of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Lord’s. The incline in the L is a reference to the famous Lord’s slope, while a thread of MCC’s unmistakable ‘egg and bacon’ colours also subtly appear across kits and branding, representing unity and duality across the entire London Spirit brand world.

In its centenary year, the Father Time weathervane – another Lord’s landmark – appears as a recurring motif across the branding.

The rebrand forms part of a new era for London Spirit, following MCC and Tech Titans assuming operational control of the team in October 2025.

To create the new branding, MCC and London Spirit enlisted the help of SomeOne, which also won the Design Agency of the Year category. SomeOne’s brief was to design a forward-looking and distinctive identity for London Spirit’s new era, and the recognition at the awards demonstrates that they have delivered on that brief.

The awards, which form part of Creativepool’s 2026 Annual, celebrate standout creative work across the industry and include a People’s Choice element decided by the wider creative community. Judges praised the entry for its ‘attention to detail, consistency and intentional application of the visual elements’, adding that it showed ‘strong craft and a clear understanding of how to build a cohesive identity.’

Katie Maier, Chief Marketing Officer at MCC, said: “We are delighted that London Spirit’s rebrand has been recognised in these awards.

“Our vision for London Spirit is to build a franchise that is bold, distinctive and ambitious, and we strongly feel that the branding plays a major part in achieving this. It has been great working so closely with SomeOne, who immediately understood the importance of celebrating both our heritage and our future through identity, and we thank them for their efforts and hard work in putting together an award-winning rebrand.”

Gary Holt, Founder, at SomeOne, said: “It was a real honour to be given the opportunity to shape the next chapter of London Spirit and create an identity that could match the ambition of the team. We’re incredibly proud of what we created together with MCC and London Spirit, and of how the identity has come to life across the team’s brand world. To see that work recognised by the wider creative community through a People’s Choice award makes it particularly special.”
