This autumn, Lord’s Cricket Ground will undergo a landmark transformation as the hallowed turf is carefully re-surfaced – for the first time in 23 years – to prepare the Home of Cricket for future cricket. In a unique opportunity for cricket fans, pieces of the original turf will be available for purchase – giving supporters the chance to own a genuine slice of sporting history.
Since the last re-turfing there have been some iconic moments at Lord’s, from the inaugural World T20 Final, where England women and Pakistan men were crowned champions, to tightly fought Ashes contests, archers showcasing their sport at its pinnacle in the London 2012 Olympic Games and two England ODI World Cup titles.
For £50 (with a discount on bulk purchases), fans can purchase a piece of the world-famous Lord’s turf – approximately 1.2m by 0.6m – with all proceeds reinvested into future ground development work.
In keeping with MCC’s commitment to cricket for all, 10% of every sale will also be donated to the MCC Foundation to support their Global Refugee Cricket Fund, supporting their vital work in providing access to the game for young people across the world.
Whether you're a lifelong Member, a cricket connoisseur, or simply want to own a piece of the Home of Cricket, this is a rare opportunity.
Sales are open now to pre-order – quantities are limited and expected to sell quickly.
