Ashwell Prince became the first of four South Africans to reach the Honours Boards during the same Test in the summer of 2008 v England at Lord’s.
After England had posted a huge total of 593/8d during their first innings, South Africa were in a bit of bother with a score of 47-3 when Prince entered the crease.
Prince duly delivered a match-saving innings, scoring 101 in total off 183 balls with 13 fours and one six hit in a knock that lasted 295 minutes.
South Africa would finish their total with a score of 247 all out before centuries by Graeme Smith, Neil McKenzie and Hashim Amla in the second innings secured a draw for the tourists.
