A.J. Finch 100 v EnglandBack to boards

Aaron Finch claimed his spot on the Limited-Overs Honours Boards when he hit 100 off 116 balls during Australia’s 64-run victory over England in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup at Lord’s.

After losing the toss and being put into bat in overcast conditions, Finch was on sublime form alongside David Warner, with the pair putting on a stand of 121.

The Australia captain’s knock saw him hit a century off 116 balls, in an innings where he smashed 11 fours and two sixes, before he was dismissed by Jofra Archer.

Finch had scored a hundred at Lord’s before, when he hit a century during the 2014 Bicentenary Match between an MCC XI and a Rest of the World XI, but this man-of-the-match performance saw Australia not only win the contest, but for Finch, his name was now finally listed in the Away Dressing Room at the Home of Cricket.
