A.J. Strauss

A.J. Strauss 161 v AustraliaBack to boards

Andrew Strauss’ fourth place on the Honours Boards was one of his finest and indeed, most important during the 2nd Test of Australia’s Ashes tour in 2009 at Lord’s.

Leading from the front, Strauss shared a superb partnership of 196 with fellow opener Alastair Cook with the former Middlesex batsman scoring 161 off 268 balls.

The instrumental knock from Strauss included 22 fours with the innings lasting 370 minutes.

England would go on to win by 115 runs to secure a first win versus Australia at Lord’s for 75 years.
