Ben Duckett became the first player to get on the Lord’s Honours Boards in 2023 for batting accolades courtesy of his hundred against Ireland in the one-off Test.
England won the toss and elected to field on a cloudy morning on Day one. After Stuart Broad ran through the Irish with figures of 5-51 to bowl them out for 172, England were off to a flyer with some sublime batting from Duckett.
Duckett ended up on 182 off 178 balls with 25 boundaries to his name. He was we supported by his fellow batter to help England get a big first innings lead.
His innings also included a milestone of becoming the fastest batter to reach a total of 150 in Test matches at Lord's.
