David Gower got his name up on the Lord’s limited-overs honours boards in the 1985 ODI series against Australia.

After losing the first two, games England skipper Gower won the toss and elected to field in this encounter. Australia ended up on 254-5 on the back of a 114 of 165 balls from Graeme Wood.

England in reply would go on to chase the total in 49 overs and loosing just 2 wickets, with Graham Gooch and Gower remaining unbeaten on 117 and 102 respectively. Gower’s innings included 14 fours and 1 six.
