E.G. Arnold 5-37 v South AfricaBack to boards

'Ted' Arnold only achieved one five-wicket haul in his career, and that came at Lord’s against the touring South Africans in 1907.

During the South Africans’ first innings, Arnold bowled White, Sinclair and Kotze all for ducks; White and Sinclair were bowled with successive balls which were perfect in length and broke back at great pace.

The last six wickets fell in four overs, Arnold taking four of those wickets.

Despite opening the bowling for South Africa’s second innings, Arnold was unable to take any further wickets before the final day was washed out due to rain.
