F.S. Trueman

F.S. Trueman 5-48 v AustraliaBack to boards

Fred Trueman’s final five-wicket haul at Lord’s came against Australia in 1964.

Despite rain washing out the first two days, when Australia were put into bat by England captain Ted Dexter on Day 3, Trueman bowled with plenty of control and despite his lack of pace he ended the first innings with 5-48.

Trueman took one more wicket in Australia’s second innings in a match that unsurprisingly ended in a draw.
