Despite England posting a total of 593/8d during their first innings and South Africa only managing 247 all out in response, the tourists ended up having four batsmen on the Honours Boards with Amla the final one to contribute.
In an unbeaten knock of 104, Amla hit 14 fours off 242 balls as South Africa declared on a total of 393/3 after the follow-on was enforced.
It proved to be an enjoyable Test for South Africa despite England’s opening innings, as they pulled the Test back to claim a draw.
