The Worcestershire seamer, who was called up to the squad at late notice as cover due to England injuries in the fast-bowling department, took figures of 5-66 in the one-off Test against the Irish.
Tongue, who joined Worcestershire at the age of six and progressed through their youth and academy system, bowled 13 wicketless overs in the first innings of the match as Ireland were bowled out for 172, thanks in part to five wickets from Stuart Broad.
But Tongue got in on the act on the second day, removing Peter Moor lbw to pick up his first Test wicket, before dismissing Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Paul Stirling and Fionn Hand to establish his place in Lord's history.
