J.M. Bairstow 167* v Sri LankaBack to boards

Jonny Bairstow made the Lord’s Honours Boards for the very first time in 2016, with a superb unbeaten score of 167.

After electing to bat, England started the opening the innings, they lost four early wickets and were on 84/4 and looking for Bairstow to rebuild the innings alongside Alastair Cook.

What the Yorkshire man subsquently delivered was a man-of-the-match performance with a innings consisting of 18 fours which guided the hosts to a score of 416 at the end of their first innings.

Unfortunately, constant rain delays prevented a positive result for England with the game being decided ultimately by a draw, but for Bairstow, it was certainly a match he will never forget.
