J.N. Gillespie 5-53 v EnglandBack to boards

Jason Gillespie made the honours board in 2001 when he took figures of 5-53 against england at lord's.

With the hosts being restricted to 187 in the first innings and Australia going on to get 401, England’s batsmen had to step up to win the Lord’s test against Australia.

Gillespie took the new ball and used his height and pace to dismiss Trescothick in the just the fifth over.

England then started to put partnerships together and were looking comfortable against the old ball. Gillespie dug in deep and used his experience to break the crucial partnerships.

He removed Ramprakash for 40 and the big wicket of Butcher for 83, with England seeming to have little answers for the Australian paceman.

Gillespie quickly finished off the English innings collecting the wickets of Caddick and Gough to claim figures of 5-53, to help guide Australia to victory.
