M.S. Atapattu 132* v EnglandBack to boards

Marvan Atapattu made the Limited-Overs Honours Boards when he hit an unbeaten 132* to guide Sri Lanka to victory over England in the summer of 1998.

After Muttiah Muralitharan had taken a five-wicket haul during England's innings to restrict the hosts to a score of 256/8, Sri Lanka saw their innings get off to the worst possible start when opener Sanath Jayasuriya was dismissed for a duck.

The loss of Jayasuriya brought Atapattu to the crease and it was to be his stunning innings that would ultimately give Sri Lanka victory.

Atapattu's knock saw him score 14 fours, facing 151 balls to guide his country to success with 17 balls still remaining.
