REECE TOPLEY 6-24 V INDIABack to boards

Reece Topley became the first English Men's bowler to write his name onto the Limited-Overs Honours Boards since Darren Gough in 1997 thanks to a match-winning 6-24 against India at Lord’s.

A superb spell saw Topley finish the match with the best figures by an English men's bowler in limited-overs cricket and helped his side to a much needed 100 run win in the second ODI of the 2022 white ball series.

In a match where England lost the toss and posted a somewhat par score of 246, it was always going to need a special bowling performance to seal a win which would level the series.

Topley duly obliged with an excellent opening spell which claimed the wickets of opening batsman Rohit Sharma for nine and Shikhar Dhawan for a duck.

Dangerman Suryakumar Yadav was to follow for 27 before Topley claimed the final three wickets of Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal and Prasidh Krishna to cap of a fine performance and seal a comprehensive win for his side.
