R.S. Bopara 143 v West IndiesBack to boards

Ravi Bopara added his name to the Honours Boards in 2009 when he hit 143 versus West Indies at the Home of Cricket.

Batting at three, the Essex all-rounder batting in his first Test match in home soil, took to the field with England 92/2 before displaying some superb shots to establish himself at the highest level.

Bopara faced 284 balls overall in an innings that included 17 fours and also one of the more memorable celebrations at Lord’s.

When reaching his century, Bopara gestured towards the Pavilion for his name to be scribed with his knock helping to set up a comfortable win for England in the end with the hosts winning by 10 wickets within three days.
