R.T. Ponting 111 v EnglandBack to boards

Ricky Ponting scored his only international century at Lord's during the 2005 ODI series between Australia and England.

Electing to field first, Ponting watched his Australian bowlers take control of the second ODI of the series with Brett Lee taking five wickets to help condemn England to a total of 223/8 off 50 overs.

In response, after Adam Gilchrist departed for 29, Ponting entered the crease to start an innings that would prove to be a match-winning one.

His score of 111 saw the Australia skipper hit 14 fours and a six, facing 115 balls before he was caught by Kevin Pietersen off the bowling of Darren Gough.

Australia went on to comfortably win the ODI by seven wickets with 34 balls remaining.
