S.C.J. Broad 169 v PakistanBack to boards

Despite being known for his bowling prowess, Stuart Broad scored a superb 169 while batting at nine during England’s first-innings versus Pakistan in 2010.

Sharing a world-record eight-wicket stand of 332 with Jonathan Trott, the fast bowler’s innings consisted of 18 fours and a six during a knock that lasted 426 minutes with 297 balls faced, demonstrating shots more common with an opening batsman than a tail-ender..

Broad’s heroics with the bat was transcended into his abilities with the ball, taking three wickets for just 34 runs during the whole of the Test to help England secure victory by an innings and 225 runs.

He would however, have to wait a further two years to get on the Bowling Honours Boards, taking a seven-wicket haul versus West Indies.
