World Cricket Connects

World Cricket Connects 2025 takes place at Lord's on 7 and 8 June. This is the second edition of the forum that brings together the most influential voices from across cricket to debate the key issues in our game today.

This year's event features four main topics - a Global Overview of the game, a debate on the subject "Is Cricket Cool?", Franchise Cricket and Women's Cricket. There will also be discussions on other important cricket matters including environmental sustainability, the cost of cricket bats, and cricket for social impact.

Guests will hear from a range of figures in cricket including Jay Shah, Ellyse Perry, Pat Cummins, Heath Mills, Heather Knight, Sourav Ganguly, Kumar Sangakkara, Mel Jones, Alistair Dobson, Satyan Gajwani, Graeme Smith, David White, Kane Williamson, Johnny Grave, Vikram Banerjee and Sana Mir. There will also be presentations from organisations including Boston Consulting Group, World Cricketers' Association, JioStar, Cricket for Climate and the MCC Foundation.

On Monday 9 June the World Cricket Connects Advisory Board will meet to review the main discussion points arising from the event.

FAQS

Attendance is by invitation only and the event will not be streamed online, but there will be the chance to follow discussion from the event on MCC's social media channels. There will also be a video wrap-up of the event released in the days after the event, with some of the game's big names discussing the outputs. There will also be a number of articles appearing in the media, both in the run-up to and after the event.

The main body of the event will take place in the Long Room at Lord's, one of the most iconic venues in the game.

MCC is a neutral body that cares deeply about the game. The Club sees this as an opportunity to bring together many of cricket's leading decision-makers and thinkers in an attempt to try to find consensus on what the game can do better.

This is the second edition of World Cricket Connects, and for the first time, it will be held over two days. The event aims to foster ongoing discussions about the future shape of the game as cricket continues to evolve.
