Cricketers go the extra mile Published: 09 April 2010

Sir Ian Botham, Angus Fraser and David Nash are all doing that bit extra for charity in April - from marathon walks to the London Marathon.

Sir Ian, an Honorary Life Member of MCC (as a young cricketer he was also on the MCC Ground Staff), is arguably now more famous for his fund-raising walks than his stellar cricket career.

The anniversary of 25 years since his first charity walk is also charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research's 50th anniversary.

Over ten days (10-19 April), Sir Ian and his supporters will walk in: Manchester, Birmingham, Worcester, Bristol, Winchester, Epsom, Reading, Milton Keynes, Chelmsford and in Hyde Park in London - raising money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Later in April (25 April), Middlesex's Director of Cricket Angus Fraser and recently retired wicket-keeper David Nash will take part in the Virgin London Marathon.

The pair are running the 26 and a bit miles to raise money for The Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice - Nash is also raising money for The Theo Walker Fund.

You can sponsor one, two or all three of these great efforts for worthy causes. All three have 'Just Giving' charity donation sites:
