MCC has joined the 18 first-class counties, ECB and PCA in donating a lot in a co-ordinated online charity cricket auction as part of ECB’s Together Through This Test campaign, which launched this week.
All donors have nominated a charitable cause to receive the proceeds from their lots, with the MCC Foundation benefitting from the Club’s donation.
The successful bidder and their guest will receive a very special experience at Lord’s Cricket Ground on the third day of the England v India Test Match in 2021. After a tour of the Lord’s Pavilion and the J.P. Morgan Media Centre, the special guests will have the chance to step on the hallowed turf at the Home of Cricket before play begins. They will then be able to enjoy the day’s play in one of MCC’s fantastic hospitality suites.
The MCC Foundation, founded in 1993, is the charitable arm of MCC and was created with the aim of enhancing lives through cricket. Their flagship programmes are specifically designed to enhance lives through the power of cricket, making a positive difference in the UK and abroad.
The Foundation recently launched an emergency appeal in response to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic, to fund meals for the most vulnerable people in Westminster. To date, the appeal has raised in excess of £78,000, enough to fund 23,000 meals for those most at risk at this time.
