A.N. Cook 106 v Sri LankaBack to boards

SIR Alastair Cook’s third appearance on the Honours Boards came during the second innings during the 2011 test versus Sri Lanka.

Despite narrowly missing out on getting his hundred by scoring 96 in the first innings, Cook looked assured and determined to help England secure a lead heading during the rain-affected test.

After Andrew Strauss was bowled for a duck, Cook put on a healthy partnership with both Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen before being stumped for 106 off 231 balls in a innings which included 10 fours.

However, while England declared on 335/7, they were unable to beat the tourists, with Sri Lanka managing to hold out for the draw.
