A.N. Cook 119 v Sri LankaBack to boards

Alastair Cook hit his first and only Lord’s one-day century during the summer of 2011 against Sri Lanka.

Captaining his country, Cook put England into bat and despite his excellent performance – which saw him hit 13 fours during his innings – the hosts struggled to find momentum and crumbled to a score of 246/7 off their 50 overs.

Cook’s innings lasted 208 minutes and saw him face 143 balls and despite his best efforts, Sri Lanka eventually went on to win the match due to the performance of Dinesh Chandimal which saw him hit an unbeaten score of 105.

That score combined with Mahela Jayawardene’s knock of 79 saw Sri Lanka over the line, winning the match by six wickets.
